Virtually non-stop wind, stunning beaches, and clear blue water, make Aruba an ideal destination for kitesurfers who want to kite daily. Aruba also offers a wide variety of activities for those days without wind, or if the muscles just need a break from lots of kiting! Partying, snorkeling, kayaking, canoeing, stand-up paddling, sunbathing, yoga, biking, scuba diving, shopping, nature viewing, swimming in the natural pools, caving, hiking, boating, windsurfing, riding at the artificial wave park, and last but not least visiting the donkey sanctuary, are all fun activities to do in Aruba.

Kitesurfing Conditions and Information
Best Winds:
December – August
Wind Probability:
95% chance! It is an ideal spot for those who only have a week or two to kite, and for long-term travelers as well.
Wind Direction:
Fisherman’s Huts (where the large resorts are located): offshore winds (E, ENE) can be a bit gusty, Boca Grande (next to the prison, other side of the island): onshore (E) & side onshore (ENE).

Water Type:
Fisherman’s Huts: open ocean & flat water, Boca Grande: small chop on left side of bay that is protected by the reef & mid-sized waves on right side of bay.
Water Temp:
Warm (260C – 290C), no wetsuit needed
Weather:
Warm (250C – 300C)
Where to Kite?
Fisherman`s huts if you enjoy flat water, or are a beginner in need of lessons. Otherwise, renting a vehicle and going to Boca Grande is highly recommended. Boca Grande is a beautiful spot to kite, and it even has a view of the prison!

Schools
There are a handful of kiteboarding schools along the beach near the resorts (Fisherman`s huts). Aruba Kite Surfing School was one of the first schools in Aruba; they provide excellent personalized lessons (ask for Lysander). Surf lessons and kitesurfing excursions are also available with Aruba Kite Surfing School.
